Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp 2025 - SOLD OUT

Registration for the 2026 Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp will open in late winter, 2026.

WHAT: Help Alexandria’s City archaeologists excavate a real archaeological site! Learn professional excavating, recording, and artifact processing methods. Uncover Alexandria’s buried past while protecting the City’s valuable historic resources.

WHO: Ages: 13 - 15

WHEN: June 23-27, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, 105 N Union Street, and the Shuter's Hill Site, 101 Callahan Drive, near the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria. 

COST: $400 with available scholarships.

REGISTRATION: Registration will open in March. Space is limited and all applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. To apply:

  1. Reserve your space at shop.alexandriava.gov/events. Camper space is not guaranteed until payment is made.
  2. Fill out an online Camper Application and email it to [email protected]. Paper applications can also be picked up and dropped off at the Alexandria Archaeology Museum on the third floor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center, 105 N. Union Street, Studio #327.
  3. If all available spots are taken, email [email protected] to be placed on the waiting list, or ask to be notified when registration opens for next year's camp.
