The museum is located in Old Town Alexandria, near many shops, restaurants, and other museums and historic sites. Visit The Lyceum at 201 South Washington Street, two blocks from Friendship Firehouse, and park for free in their parking lot while visiting both museums, or use metered parking on the street.

Saturday, August 2 the Museum will be open 9 a.m.--2 p.m. as part of the annual Friendship Firehouse Festival. 

 

Friendship Firehouse Museum

The Friendship, Sun, Relief, Hydraulion and other local volunteer fire companies served the community, and some of their stories and equipment are preserved today in the Friendship Firehouse Museum. The Engine Room houses fire-fighting equipment, while the Meeting Room displays ceremonial objects used by these community organizations.

Event Tickets

Admission

Free admission for Alexandria residents.

General Admission: $2.00 per person

Free admission is also available to American Alliance of Museum members (AAM), Virginia Association of Museums Members (VAM), Veterans and Alexandria City Employees. 

Group Services

Group programs consist of an intro/orientation, followed by a self-guided visit facilitated by a staff member who is available to answer questions. There is a fee of $3.00 per person/$40 minimum per program. For group tours at Friendship Firehouse Museum, call 703.746.4994, or contact Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum for more information. Accessibility
