The City of Alexandria is making improvements to the pedestrian crossing infrastructure along Eisenhower Avenue immediately adjacent to the Eisenhower Avenue Metrorail Station. This project was identified as a high priority improvement in the Eisenhower East Small Area Plan.

The Holmes Run Trail Repair Project includes several different sections of the Holmes Run Trail that were damaged by flooding.

The City of Alexandria is repairing damage to an existing 12-inch sanitary sewer main along 1200 block of North Beauregard Street between N. Morgan St. and Sanger Ave.

In 2012, the Beauregard Corridor Plan Traffic Impact Analysis identified transportation improvements necessary to sustain future developments and projected population growth, including the Ellipse design within the North Beauregard and Seminary Road intersection.

The City of Alexandria recently installed Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (NAPL) recovery wells along Oronoco Street between North Lee and North Union Streets beginning March 2, 2021 and completed on April 30, 2021. 
 

The City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) outlines the large infrastructure projects to be undertaken across City departments during a 10-year time horizon. Eleven priority storm sewer capacity improvement projects have been identified.
 

In order to address localized flooding and drainage issues, the Stormwater Management Division targets neighborhoods for spot improvement projects. These are small capital projects designed to support the increased functionality of the City’s storm sewer system.

The City of Alexandria will be relining sanitary sewer pipes on Wheeler Ave. as part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the City’s sanitary sewer infrastructure. Rehabilitation efforts will utilize cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) technology.
